Obituary of John E. Bramhall

John Bramhall Sr., 76, died Thursday, August 7, 2014 at his home in Denville, NJ.
He was born in Orange, NJ and grew up in Livingston. He married his wife Joan (Youngclaus) on December 17, 1960, and they spent over 53 wonderful years together. In 1980, they moved to Denville. He served his country in the US Navy from 1959 to 1962.
John was the owner of Bramhall Construction in Denville, and built and renovated many homes in the area. He was hardworking and extremely passionate about his work, passing his love of carpentry onto both his sons, who continued his legacy by operating their own construction companies in the area. John was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, going on numerous trips around the country with his sons and close friends. He especially loved spending time in Alaska. John was known for his loyalty and generosity, and was always a man of his word, willing to seal a business deal on a simple handshake.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Helen Bramhall; daughter Debbie Herring; and his beloved companion, his dog Joe. He is survived by his children Brian and Theresa Bramhall of Diamond Point, NY, John and Melinda Bramhall Jr. of Boonton Twp. and Lori Cassela of New York; as well as nine grandchildren; brother Richard; and sisters Roberta and Alice.
Funeral Services were private, a Memorial Mass will be held for John and Joan on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 2:00pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Denville.
