Susan D. Scouten, 68, formerly of Morristown, NJ., passed away peacefully after a short illness on Saturday, July 5. Susan was born in Morristown, to the late John F.X. and Thelma Davitt.
She grew up in Bay Village, OH where she attended Bay High School. She and her father moved back to Morristown in the early 70s. She married Robert W. Scouten in 1980 and lived in Morristown until her husband's unexpected death and has since resided in Rockaway and ultimately at The Chelsea in Montville. She enjoyed reading, word games, and her Rosary Society.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert and her brother Jack. She is survived by her sister Joan D. Griffith (husband, Donald) of Denville; her sister-in-law Sylvia Davitt of Silver Spring, MD; two nieces, Lisa MacGray of Denville and Amy Colley of Tunkhannock, PA; three nephews, John Griffith of Tunkhannock, Liam and Alexander Davitt of Silver Spring; and three grand nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 16th at 1 pm at St. Mary's RC Church, Myers Ave., Denville. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. To light a candle, please go to www.normandean.com.
