James Andrews, 87, passed away peacefully, on Friday, July 4th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 10th at 10:30 am at St. Cecelia's Church, Rockaway. Interment to follow at Denville Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 9th from 4-8 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville. To light a candle, please go to www.normandean.com Jim was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Patrick and Catherine Andrews. After his schooling he enlisted into the US Army where he proudly served his country during WWII, joining allied forces in Europe. Upon his return to the states, he met and later married Bernardine McCaffery. They settled in Rockaway Township where they raised their five children. James was a member of K of C Council # 7141 in Brodheadsville, PA and also a member of Assembly 980. He enjoyed playing golf and working in his yard, but above all, he loved spending time with his family. Surviving is his wife Bernardine of 66 years; daughter Kathleen Elko and her late husband James, son James and his wife Kathleen, son Patrick and his wife Donna, daughter Karen Hoel and her husband William, and son William and his wife Kathleen; his grandchildren Michael, Rachel, Elizabeth, James III, Jacqueline, Joseph, Devyn, Tiffany, William, Jack, Connor, and Katherine; eleven great grandchildren; and many more loving relatives and friends.
