Anne F. Higgins (Finan) passed away at Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains on May 30, 2014 at the age of 97.
Born in New York City she had lived in Woodside, NY and Green Pond, NJ for most of her life before moving to Pompton Plains, NJ 9 years ago.
Anne worked as a school secretary for the New York City Board of Education for 30 years before retiring in 1973.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Eugene F. Higgins in 1975, as well as her oldest son, Eugene V. Higgins in 1996 and her son in-law Robert Mattson in 2001.
Anne is survived by her children Elizabeth Mattson of Green Pond, Paul and his wife Lisa Higgins of Denville, NJ and her daughter in-law Kathleen Higgins of Rockland, NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren Daniel Higgins, Kathleen Fanning, Christine Higgins, Jean Arias, James Mattson and Colin Higgins. Her Great grandchildren Caitlin, Emily, Daniel, and Meghan Higgins, and her Great Great Grandchildren Molly, Owen and Alice Fanning, Samantha and Henry Arias also survive her.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30AM on Saturday June 7, 2014 at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834, then going to St. Simon the Apostle Church in Green Pond, NJ for an 11AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Mass. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday June 6, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
