Obituary of Rita Behson

Rita I. Behson, 97, passed away at Saint Clare's Hospital Denville, NJ on Wednesday February 26, 2014. Rita was born in Jersey City, NJ. Rita was a resident of St. Francis Residential Community in Denville, NJ and prior a resident of Milford, PA and Sparta, NJ. Rita was a graduate and received her Bachelors in Elementary Education and her Master's in Reading Education from William Paterson University. Rita was an Elementary Education School Teacher at the Rev. Brown School in Sparta, NJ for 25 years before retiring in 1980. Rita was predeceased by her husband Peter J. Behson in 2001, and her son, Robert L. Behson in 1967, and her daughter, Rita Marie Opiela in 2006, and her son, Paul R. Behson in 2008, and her son Peter Behson Jr. in 2014, and her siblings, James N. Daly, Eileen Strutton, and Rev. Robert L. Daly Rita is survived by her daughters, Mary and Steven Synder, Jean and Paul Swibinski, and Laurie Ammann, and her Daughter-in-Law's, Rina Behson, Marcia Behson, and Patricia Behson, and Son-in-Law Joe Opiela and her 15 grandchildren and 8 Great grandchildren, and her sister, Joanne Curry. Relatives and friends will be received at the St. Francis Chapel 122 Diamond Spring Rd., Denville, NJ on Saturday March 1st from 8am to the of services at 9:30 am for a Mass of Christian Burial service, committal services at Milford Cemetery, Dingmans Township, PA.
