Obituary of Joan Yvonne Treier

Please share a memory of Joan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Joan Yvonne Treier passed away peacefully at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 7, 2017. She was 85 years young.

Born in Morristown, she had been a Lake Hiawatha resident since 1963. She married her soulmate, William on March 14, 1953 and they began their wonderful family. Although homemaker was what society would call her occupation, there was so much more to her than being just a “homemaker”.  Joan was a phenomenal wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, an outstanding mother and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an amazing cook and hostess, making sure that no one left her house hungry or empty handed. She was always there for anyone in her life that needed her help, whether it was food shopping, traveling, or just a reason to smile, Joan was there for you. No matter the mood you arrived to her house in, you left feeling uplifted and optimistic. Joan certainly broke the mold when she was born and she will be sorely missed. Her legacy of providing food, shelter, love, and laughter will always be alive in our hearts and souls.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, William; sons, Scott and William; siblings, Eanda Marlette, Delonice Leven, Ruth Pollason, Kathleen DiCenzo, Marie Kapral, and Allen Decker; left to keep her legacy alive are her loving sons, Glenn Treier and his wife Janet of Denville, Russell Treier and his wife Deborah of Denville, and Ronald Treier and his wife Robin of Lyndhurst; her cherished grandchildren, Lori Jensen and her husband Randy, David and Daniel Treier, Philip and Kay-Lee Treier, and Ronnie and Dana Treier; her adored great-grandchildren, Sage and Ella; and many more extended family and friends.

Public Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 11th from 2 – 4 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, with Service beginning at 4 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Joan’s memory to Wienstein Inpatient Hospice and Palliative Care Center by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org. Please leave a condolence and special memory for her family.
