Born and raised in Dunnellen, NJ, she worked in Kearny, where she met and married her soulmate, John Hrenko. Together they relocated to Hillside to raise their family. Gertrude was a very talented seamstress, making slip covers, drapes, clothing for her family, and much more. She was also a skilled painter, painting many ceramics with her daughters. Gertrude was a devout Catholic and proud member of St. Mary's RC Church in Denville. She was devoted to Jesus and his Mother and loved having them as such a big part in her life. Her other great love was her family. She cherished spending quality time with all of them. Her legacy of love, laughter, and family will continue to live on in her family, and the many lives that she touched with her kind-hearted, generous spirit.
