Philip C. Strub, of Basking Ridge, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Randolph. He was 95 years old. Born and raised in Newark, Phil had resided in Basking Ridge since 1954 in a house he built himself with a friend. He is a proud World War II U.S. Army Veteran. Phil was an avid tennis player and enjoyed long walks with his several Airedale Terriors he owned over the years. He spoke about many fond memories he had at picnics with friends and family. Son of the late Philip C. and Anna Strub and brother of the late Donald M. Strub, he is survived by his niece, Carol DePugh and her husband Keith of Parsippany; his nephew, Robert Strub and his wife Georgette of Choctaw, OK; his great-niece and great-nephews, Stephen, Dan, Greg, Jess, Brian and Jason; and his sister-in-law, Barbara L. Strub of Denville and her brother, Ken Evans. Public Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16th from 9 – 11 am at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ. Funeral Service will take place following the visitation at 11 am. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
