Angelo M. Polizzano passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 08, 2016 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. He was 91 years old.
Born in Hoboken, he has been a Rockaway resident for 16 years. Angelo was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, serving our country in World War II. After being Honorably Discharged, he attended and graduated from the RCA Institute and began his 44 year career in the entertainment industry as a Television Engineer at WOR TV in New York City. In 1956, he married his soulmate, Elizabeth, and they began their family in Bergenfield, NJ, where he and his family lived for 42 years.
Angelo had a wide variety of hobbies including reading, dancing, taking walks, swimming, gardening, horseback riding and solving crossword puzzles. Angelo loved to have a good time; he made sure he was very involved with the many parties that happened in his Fox Hills Community. Above anything else, he loved being a husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His family was the most important thing in his life and he cherished spending time with them and teaching them everything that he was able to. He will forever live on in our heart and souls.
Left to keep his legacy alive is his beloved wife of 60 years, Elizabeth (Mannherz); his loving children, Joseph Polizzano and his wife Jeanne of Glen Rock, Robert Polizzano and his wife Vicki of Philadelphia, and Leanne Polizzano of Oak Ridge; his adored grandchildren, Michael Polizzano, Rachel Polizzano, Robert “Bob” Polizzano, Jr., Kristine Polizzano, Jennifer Dowd and Thomas Dowd; his caring sisters, the late Anna Petrovich, Sarah Teut of Indiana, and Josephine Bankowitz of New York; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
