Obituary of Leonard M. Ziacoma

Leonard M. Ziacoma passed away on December 7, 2016 at Morris View Healthcare Center.
He graduated from Dover High School in 1939. Leonard was also a graduate of Gettysburg College and received his Master's Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. During World War II, he proudly served in the U.S. Army, the 867th Ordinance Heavy Maintenance Company and the Philippines Island. His decorations were the American Campaign Medal, Atlantic Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and World War II Victory Medal. Leonard was a Mathematics Instructor for over 30 years. He taught mathematics in Plainfield, Livingston, Passaic Regional, West Morris Regional, and Mt. Olive High Schools. He retired in 1980.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Lawrence and Geroge; his sisters, Anna Ziacoma, Antoinette Adams, Mary Toth, and Josephine Ferrone; his daughter, Eileen Ziacoma; his grandson, Nicholo Brodeen; and his son-in-law, Peter Brodeen. He is survived by his companion, Evelyn Thompson of Denville; his daughters, Lenora Brodeen of Mt. Bethel, PA, Anita Newmark and her husband Gary of Broadway, Eva Duke and her husband Mark of Oxford, and Elaine Ziacoma of Andover; his son, John of Maine; his 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Public Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 12th from 6 – 8 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ 07834. Funeral Service will take place during the Visitation at 7:30 pm at the Funeral Home.
