Obituary of James V. DiGuiseppi

James V. DiGuiseppi passed away peacefully at his home in Denville, NJ on October 12, 2016, at the age of 88.
Born in Newark to Anita Meloni and Attilio DiGuiseppi, James, known to all as Jim, was the fifth of eight children. Jim was raised in Boonton and later moved to Denville when he married Jo Ann Romond and together raised four children on their farm. During his life, he served two years in the New Jersey National Guard. He answered the call of duty to his country and proudly served in the 13th Battalion of the Combat Engineers as Sergeant during the Korean War from December 12, 1950 through September 12, 1952, where he received the Korean Service Medal and Bronze Service Star. Upon his return from Korea, he and his brother formed DiGuiseppi Bros. Excavating Contractors and later established J&J Excavating Contractors, better known to all as Earth Movers. Throughout his career, Jim served many customers and municipalities, established recreation fields, and assisted senior citizens in the town.
Jim is survived by his loving children: James E. DiGuiseppi and his wife April of Columbia; Dean T. DiGuiseppi of Denville; Amy J. Horn and her husband Fred of Andover; and Wendy J. Heller and her husband Gary of Denville. He is also survived by his sister Francis Termyna, his brother Paul DiGuiseppi, and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday October 17, 2016, at 10am at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834. Interment will follow at Denville Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5pm.
