Obituary of June Ernstrom

June Simpson Ernstrom, age 67, of Denville and Ocean Grove, NJ, passed at Compassionate Care Hospice of Dover located in St. Clare’s Hospital on December 16, 2013 after a courageous 2 year battle with breast cancer. Born in Glasgow Scotland on May 2, 1946, she came to the United States as a 6 year old “wee lassie” and grew up in Clifton with her parents John and Jean Simpson, who pre-deceased her. June is survived by her husband, Errol, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed & Pam and her “sister” Christine Smith and husband Randall of Gettysburg, PA. She also leaves 5 nieces and 1 nephew. She was formerly employed as Accounts Manager at Denville Associates of Internal Medicine and as Office Manager for the Dr’s Brynildsen, both of Denville. She was a Former First Lady for District 6 (NJ) of the Vasa Order of America and a member for 40 years and had served as Chaplain for the Arlington Lodge #62 of Budd Lake. She loved going to Flea Markets and Estate Sales and to Ocean Grove with her “BFF” Pauline LaRocque as well as “The Coop” and Old Engine, Pa. Her kind and gentle ways will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to N.J. Vasa Home, RD #1, Wolfe Road, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 OR to the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association, Together Campaign-Boardwalk, 52 Pitman Avenue, Ocean Grove, NJ 07756. Visitation will be held on Thursday December 19, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Denville United Methodist Church 190 Diamond Spring Road Denville, NJ 07834. Funeral services will be held at the church on Friday December 20, at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Cresthaven Cemetery in Clifton, NJ. A Celebration of Life Party will be held at a later date at the Cultural Center of Vasa Park, Wolfe Road, Budd Lake.
