I am sorry for your loss and feel a whisper of the pain and sorrow that you feel. My earliest remembrance of JoAnn is from a High School era party held while I was spending a week as a kid at Oakside. The connection was evident then, so long ago that soul mate is truly fitting. I remember too a dinner at the airport in Honolulu, with a young Air Force officer, a young naval officer, (the cousins) and our wives all facing the Vietnam war, the young officers doing what our country called us to do and both of our wives making the best they could given the situation. As we plowed on through the decades in our busy daily lives, I always took quiet pleasure in knowing that David and JoAnn were there, working as a team to defend our country, raise good children and most of all to be just the kind of good people that are the real backbone of our great country and humanity. May she rest in peace, knowing she lived well, she loved well and that we will all miss her.

I just recently met JoAnn and am very sad to hear that she passed away. I was looking forward to seeing her again. I'm so sorry for the loss you have experienced. The conversation she an I had a couple of weeks ago centered on the Bible, and the hope that we can gain from it. One scripture that gives me comfort is found at Revelation 21:4 where God promises in the future to "wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." I hope this brings you a measure of peace. My sincerest condolances.

"When They Ring The Golden Bells"
--Natalie Merchant
There's a land beyond the river
That they call the sweet forever
And we only reach that shore by faith's decree
One by one we'll gain the portals
There to dwell with the immortals
When they ring the golden bells for you and me
Don't you hear the bells now ringing
Don't you hear the angels singing
'Tis the glory hallelujah Jubilee
In that far off sweet forever,
Just beyond the shining river
When they ring the golden bells for you and me
We shall know no sin or sorrow
In that heaven of tomorrow
When our hearts shall sail beyond the silvery sea
We shall only know the blessing
Of our Father's sweet caressing
When they ring the golden bells for you and me
Don't you hear the bells now ringing
Don't you hear the angels singing
'Tis the glory hallelujah Jubilee
In that far off sweet forever
Just beyond the shining river
When they ring the golden bells for you and me
When our days shall know their number
When in death we sweetly slumber
When the King commands the spirit to be free
Nevermore with anguish laden
We shall reach that lovely Eden
When they ring the golden bells for you and me
When they ring the golden bells for you and me
Sincerest condolences for the family of one amazing lady. I had the pleasure of knowing JoAnn first as a horse boarder in the late 90's, and then as neighborhood friend when we bought a house nearby. Her eulogy is perfect. JoAnn was all that and more. I respected her a great deal. She always stopped to say hello and tell me how beautiful my own young daughter was. Her pride in her daughters, husband, grandchildren and family was written all over her smiling face. I will surely miss her quick wit. I offer these sweet lyrics to the family and friends of JoAnn as a reminder of the faith we "try" to keep during the grieving of our mortal losses. JoAnn's spirit is free. By the grace of God we will be reunited with the ones who hold a special place deep in our hearts when our turn comes. God Bless those on earth who live their lives with empathy, dignity and kindness to man and animal as JoAnn did.

Carmen and I want to extend our deepest condolences and well wishes to Christie and David as well as JoAnn's extended family. Our memories of JoAnn through the years are of the happiest variety. She was a wonderfully warm and intelligent person and we shared many a stimulating conversation. It was always evident that she was an extremely loving and devoted mother and wife.
She and I had recently been sharing some theatrical memories via FB and news of this sudden event were shocking to say the least.
I know that JoAnn's loving kindness and talents live on in her family and the souls of all she has touched through the years.
Carmen and I will be making a donation in her name to our local Breast Cancer campaign. I have just received my envelope for the summer drive and the timing for giving couldn't be more propitious.

I am so very sorry to hear of Jo Ann's passing. It was a treat riding through the farm visiting with her on the porch, and she touched everyone around with magic, grace and a searing insight that will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to the family. I was sadden to hear of her passing, as I was her brother. We grew up together, ice-skating on Parks Lake and hanging out at Stewart's. David, I spent many overnights with your sister, Susan, as we went to Hibernia School together. God bless you all with peace and comfort. She will always be with you in your hearts.

David, I am so sorry to hear about JoAnn. We had such a wonderful childhood, growing up together. Our Mothers used to dress us alike. We learned to do so many things together as little girls. She will always have a special place in my heart and I will always remember JoAnn.
