Obituary of Avinash Gangadhar Tilak

"Dear Friends of Avinash Tilak: I know several of you have been waiting to get details about the planned Celebration of Life for our friend and colleague, Avi Tilak, who passed away December 2, 2013. With the help of Avi's friends from the Rotary Club and other organizations, we will be holding the event Sunday, January 19, 2014, starting at 1:45 PM, at the Morris Knolls High School Auditorium, 50 Knoll Drive, Denville, NJ 07834. I am expecting the main event will last till about 3:00 PM, followed by a reception with light refreshments in the school cafeteria. The Tilak family is hosting the event. There are several individuals who have already indicated their desire to speak at the event. If you can attend and wish to speak, please let me know. Our intention is to truly celebrate Avi's life, as a friend, family man, colleague, mentor and everything else that he was to many of us. Please send your donations by January 31, 2014. _____________________________________________________________________________ Avinash Gangadhar Tilak passed away at his home in Denville, NJ on December 2, 2013. He was 62 years old. Born in Mumbai, India he had come to the United States in 1972 and has lived in Denville, NJ since 1991. Avi earned his PHD in Industrial Engineering and owned and operated his own business, ADT Inc. in Denville, NJ before retiring in2010. He was past president of the Denville Rotary, was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow, was a member of the Paul Harris Society and served as the Denville Rotary District #7470 Governor 2012-2013. Avinash is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Vasanti G. Tilak (Pendse). He is also survived by his loving children Gaurie and Hershed Tilak both of Denville, NJ.
