Dorothy "Dot" L. Schiller, of Hopatcong, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the age of 101.
Born and raised in Newark, that is where she met her soulmate, Charles Schiller. After a few years of marriage, they decided to relocate to Beachwood, NJ to raise their family. She was a collector at heart. Some of her favorite things to collect were owls, cats, and recipes. Everything that she collected was unique. Dot was an amazing and one of a kind woman, mother, and friend to all; she broke the mold when she was born.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles; her son, Thomas; her siblings, Irving, Jr. and Sally Reynolds, Dot's legacy will live on in the hearts of many. Especially her adored son, Charles Schiller of Hopatcong; her loving sister, Bobbi Longstreet of Mt. Tabor; her caring brother, Eugene Longstreet and his family; her loyal daughter-in-law, Betsy Bean; her caring caregiver, Maria; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18th from 2 - 4 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Dot's memory to the ASPCA by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org. Please leave a condolence for her family.
