Bill Michalski posted a condolence
Friday, March 4, 2016
I just found out yesterday of John's passing. God bless him and his family. We went to grammar school together, St. Catherine's, Hillside and I saw him a couple of years ago when Father Pat McDonnell had a mass for grammar school classmates at his church in Hightstown.
Another classmate Patricia Coyle Praschak informed me and again, my condolences to his family.

We're so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. What a remarkable man he was. He and your mother were such a terrific couple and did so much for the community. We pray that he is at peace and back in the company of your beautiful and equally remarkable mother. God Bless.

I would like to say how much I loved joking around with John at our Fishing Club meeting. He could crack me up better than anyone. When I had to create our CLFC Blurb page, he was my sounding board. He always had great ideas to make our CLFC better too. My world was a brighter, funnier place with him in it. You will be dearly missed.
p.s.: And for the record John, I did not win the Bluefish trip because the mate was sweet on me!!!

My condolences on your Dad's passing. When I moved back to the lake and ran into Mr. McNichol, he remembered me right away and welcomed me back. He always had some nice words to say whenever we would see each other. It always made me think how lucky we are to live in a place where you can always see a familiar friendly face and have a nice chat about the day. Mr. McNichol's familiar friendly face will surely be missed around Cedar Lake and Denville.

John Jr, Beth and Patrick - Our condolences to you and your Families. As our Families grew up together at 'Cedar' we have lots of fond memories to share. We'll always remember his countless hours lighting the Christmas Tree each year on 'Bunny Island' as well as your Dad always proudly displaying the Irish Flag at 10 Cedar. His smile and good will towards all certainly has rubbed off on so many. Our Prayers are with with. The Hurley Family

I am so very sad to hear this news My condolences to your family I enjoyed his friendship and company growing up and since i moved back to the lake in 94 I want to share a story i was 16 riding my dirt bike across the frozen lake past his house he was waving me off and i didn't know what to think i was being harassed for riding down the road by mr paterson and was trying to not offend anyone well the reason he was waving me off was the warm spring by your house. Well guess what happened i feel right through the ice bike and all he just shook his head and told me he was trying to tell me Which i realized too late.I was rescued by a bunch of kids on figure skates and John who had some rope .lol great memories about a wonderful Man .May he R.i.p.Love from our family to yours The Rosell's
