Helena Di Vizio, 89, former resident of Denville, NJ and White Township passed away in Ocala, Florida on October 29, 2013. She had been living with her adoring daughter and caregiver for the last ten years. Helena (nee) Kowalchik was born in Cambria County, PA. In 1942 “Dutchess” married her loving husband Nicholas in Belleville, NJ. They later moved to Denville, NJ and after many losses over eleven years they were finally blessed with the birth of their first child. They raised their family there over the next thirty five years. Later, she accomplished her dream of living in Utah and then at the shore in Florida. She is survived by her loved son Gary and his wife Imelda of Ocala, Fla. She will also be greatly missed by her loving and grateful daughters Janet and husband Ken Boehm of Ocala and Susan and her husband Mark Healey of White Township, NJ. She is also survived by her four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Helena was respected for being a proud hard-worker, sadly retiring in 1986 after many fulfilling, happy years from Sandoz in East Hanover, NJ in order to care for her husband for the next 17 years, until his death in 1995. Her priority in life was one of devotion and protection of her loved ones. Mom leaves us her wisdom and valuable lessons of faith and positive-thinking and her never ending laugh and smile. She enjoyed gardening, music, polka dancing, and the Jersey Shore. In later years she enjoyed church, people and pets, senior centers, traveling and her fourteen years with her beloved Maltese “Precious.” Friends and family will be visiting together on Friday, November 29, 2013 from 9:00 until 10:15 AM at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, NJ, followed by a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Service at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s R.
