Obituary of Raymond E. Lafferty

Raymond E. Lafferty, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8th, 2013. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 11th from 7- 9pm with military honors at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The Salvation Army, 76 North Bergen Street, Dover, NJ 07803.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, on July 12, 1918, Raymond was the only child to Leon and Marion Lafferty. After High School, he met and later married Marjorie McAllister and the couple settled in Boonton. He enlisted in the US Navy, proudly serving his country during WWII. Upon his return to the states, the Lafferty’s started their family. Raymond worked for Boonton Electronics for many years acting as their VP and later President before retiring in 1983. During this time, he started his own consulting company RF Measurements, which was active until just a few years ago. In 1980 he became a Fellow in the IEE. Their highest honor.
Predeceased by his wife Marjorie; he is survived by his three children Jeanne, Jim and Jack Maureen, daughter in-law; Jim’s partner Karen Murphy and his three grandchildren Fionna Nilsson, Jill Strelec and Ian Irwin; and his three great grandchildren.
