Gilda Swenson, 86, of Blairstown, formerly of Denville, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, on July 7, 2015.
Born and raised in Paris, France, Gilda came to the United States on September 29, 1941. She is a very accomplished woman, having owned her own women's retail company called Christina's, for 40 years in Denville. Prior to that, she worked for a maternity merchandise broker in New York, where she resided until the 1970's. Gilda also had her Pilot's License. She was the kind of woman that knew the importance of independence and she taught her family that as well. A phenomenal wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she will be truly missed and remembered forever.
Predeceased by her parents, Giles and Borgny Francklyn, and her beloved husband of 69 years Robert Swenson, Gilda is survived by her adored children, Christopher Swenson of West Belmar, Per Swenson of Blairstown, and Eric Swenson of Rockaway; her devoted grandchildren, Eryn, Heather, and Hunter; and her cherished great-granddaughter Ava Cunningham.
