Theresa E. Giaimo passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 at The Blake Assisted Living Facility in Gulf Breeze, FL, surrounded by her loving husband and daughter. Born and raised in New York, NY, she worked as a secretary for Bigelow Carpet Company before becoming a wife and mother. Theresa moved to Cedar Lake in Denville several years after marrying her husband, Frank. She spent the majority of her life in Cedar Lake, raising her three children and being an active member of the lake community. Theresa loved to bowl and was a member of several bowling leagues associated with Cedar Lake and Denville. She was an avid newspaper reader, and enjoyed watching television crime shows. She was a great Scrabble player, teaching her children and grandchildren and playing weekly games with her sister. Above all else, Theresa was an adoring daughter of her mother, best friend to her sister, Winnie, and cherished MeMa to her three grandchildren. She was a gentle person who easily made friends at her new home in Florida. Even though she only lived at The Blake for four and a half years, that was enough time to be considered a favorite among the staff and residents. Predeceased by her father, Patrick Fitzpatrick, her step-father, John Ward, her sisters Rosalyn Curtin and Margaret Kline, her daughter, Eileen Caprio, and her son, Stephen Giaimo, Theresa is survived by her loving mother, Margaret Ward of New York, NY; her beloved husband of 58 years, Frank Giaimo of Gulf Breeze, FL; her devoted daughter, Lisa Fahy and her husband, Larry of Navarre, FL; her cherished grandchildren, Kasha Fahy, Kellie Fahy and Allyson Caprio; her adored sisters, Winnie Gaidies of Hackettstown, NJ, Eleanor Zardis of Warren MI, and Doreen Neyland of Patchogue, NY and numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Saturday, July 11th at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 15 Myers Avenue, Denville, NJ 07834. Burial will follow in Denville Cemetery, Denville. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Theresa's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville NJ 07834.
