Doretha K. “Dee” Batley (Todd) passed away at Franciscan Oaks in Denville, NJ on October 23, 2013 at the age of 101.
Born in Landing she has lived in Denville, NJ for over 70 years. She was an avid golfer and was the last surviving spouse of the founding members of Rockaway River Country Club. She also was an avid bowler and helped found the “Clare Cadets” at St. Clare’s Hospital in the early 1960’s.
Doretha was predeceased by her husband Harry A. Batley in 1989.
She is survived by her loving daughter Ann and her husband Robert McGowan of Denville and her grandchildren Sean McGowan of Caldwell, NJ and Alexis Fisher of Philadelphia, PA as well as her Great Granddaughter Melina McGowan.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 26, 2013 at 11AM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dover, NJ. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
