Ruth A. Stevenson (nee Stuart), beloved mother and grandmother, passed away quietly in her sleep at the age of 95 years in Morristown, NJ on August 27, 2012.
Born in Jersey City, where she had spent most of her life, Ruth moved to Rockaway in 1994 at Mount Pleasant Apartments, before moving to Morris Hills Center in Morristown in 2009.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Harry I. Stevenson in 1984. She was also predeceased by her brother Robert and her sisters Gladys Kestner and Katherine Price.
She is survived by her sons, Harry of Ohio, Robert and his wife Carol of Rockaway, and George and his wife Beverly of Trenton, NJ. Her grandchildren Lynn Shafto of New Jersey, Joyce Stevenson of Florida, Harry Stevenson, Jr. of Florida, Lee Fearnley of Ohio, Robyn Fuller of Nevada, Richard of Indiana, Robert Stevenson and Christopher Stevenson of New Jersey. She also leaves 25 loving Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren, One Great Great-Great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 12PM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 6 Knoll Drive, Denville, NJ. Arrangements under the direction of Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834.
