Obituary of Gerd Andreassen

Gerd Andreassen, 86, died at home in the Lake Telemark section of Rockaway Township, NJ. She was born to Otto and Lise Larsen in Flekkefjord , Norway , and in 1939 she and her family moved to the United States settling in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn . In 1947 she married Alf Andreassen and in 1948 they moved to Lake Telemark, he died in 2001. Gerd had worked for thirty one years in the business offices of Jersey Central Power and Light in Dover, NJ retiring in 1986. She had always been active in the community where she was a member of the Lake Telemark Country Club, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, the Sons of Norway, Nor-Bu Lodge #427, the Rockaway Twp. North Senior Citizens Club, and also in the Order of the Eastern Star, Pearl Chapter in Dover, NJ . She is survived by her daughter and her husband Carol and Roger McKeon, her son Robert Andreassen all of Lake Telemark, her three grandchildren Jeffrey and Stephanie McKeon of Lake Telemark, Steven and Randall McKeon of Sewall's Point, Fla. and Erika McKeon of Lake Telemark, as well as her four great grandchildren Ashton, Cory, Adelaide and Holden. She is also survived by her siblings Rev. Rolf E. Larsen of New Hyde Park, L.I., NY, Helena Theodorsen of Lake Telemark., and Oddfrid Tokle of Lake Telemark. She was predeceased by her sister Synnove Tonnesen of Rhine Beck, NY. A Celebration of Gerd's life will be held on Sunday July 29, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Nor-Bu Lodge 427 at 171 Green Pond Road in Lake Telemark, Rockaway Township, NJ .
