Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, New Jersey 07834 (973) 627-1880 Daily Record 1x Wednesday 7-4-2012 Neighbor News Ruth Eleanor Aquino (nee Pittenger) went into the hands of the Lord on Sunday, July 1, 2012, after a long illness. Born on June 3, 1922, Ruth was a life-long resident of Boonton, until moving to Rockaway Twp. in 2000 with her daughter and son-in-law. Ruth was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church where she attended grammar school and then graduated from Boonton High School in 1938. She retired from Warner-Chilcott in Morris Plains, NJ, where she worked for over 20 years. She was married to the love of her life, Frank Aquino, who predeceased her after 60 years of marriage. Ruth was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who’s life revolved around her family and who’s family embraced and loved her. She enjoyed each day with the kids spoiling them every chance she could. An avid sports fan, she loved the Yankees and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Besides her husband, Frank, Ruth was predeceased by her son Guy Aquino, in 2004, her brother, Leo Pittenger, and sisters; Marie Mahedy, Tessie Regec, and Ann Russell. She is survived by two sons: Tom and wife Kathy, of Gastonia, NC, Bill and wife Karen of Pittsburg, KS; her daughter-in-law: Mary Sue Aquino of Denville; and her daughter Fran Shivas and husband Don of Rockaway Twp, NJ. Proud grandmother of eleven: Don Shivas and wife Terri, Bill Shivas and wife Allison, Vinnie Shivas and wife Anne, David Shivas and wife Andrea, Mike Aquino, Melissa Kobilarcik and husband John, Victoria Rzucidlo and husband Brian, and Joe, Frank, Carly, and Anthony Aquino. Ruth was an even prouder great-grandmother of fifteen. Ruth is also survived by her brother, Jack Pittenger of Whiting, NJ, sister-in-laws: Mary Bucceri and Edith Aquino of Boonton and Clara Pittenger of Florida. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Ruth’s funeral will be conducted from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ wwwnormandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of Ruth on website), on Saturday July 7th at 8:30am for a 10am Mass of Christian Burial service at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Boonton, NJ, committal and interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Boonton, NJ. Relatives and friends will be received on Friday July 6th at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
