Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, New Jersey 07834 (973) 627-1880 Herald News Sunday June 17, 2012 Patricia Ann Roedema (Jachts), born January 26, 1947, passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving husband and daughter on Monday, June 4, 2012 at St. Clare’s Hospital, Denville, NJ. She lived a wonderful life for over 65 years, which was shortened before she could fulfill all her dreams. She had a blessed life with many untold miracles, but it was God’s wish for her to be with Him now. Pat was born in Paterson, NJ, and grew up in Fair Lawn and Wayne. She was a teacher at St. Catherine’s in Ringwood, and spent the rest of her career as a very successful business woman at GAF, Ashland Oil, Parke-Davis, Warner Lambert, Pfizer, Schering-Plough, Merck, and finally as a Global Compliance Services Director at PerkinElmer in Connecticut. She was married on July 11, 1970, and spent her married years in West Milford, NJ; Canton, Michigan; and Oak Ridge (Jefferson Township), NJ. Pat loved the beach and Nags Head, North Carolina in the Outer Banks, and also cruises. She was extremely caring, giving, and thoughtful. Her creativity shined not only in her business skills, but in anything she attempted, including cooking, baking, her garden and flowers, interior decorating, crafts, and sewing. She loved decorating the house for any holiday, inside and out. Every Sunday, her beautiful home was filled with the aroma of exceptional cooking and desserts. She added a special touch to every thing she laid her hands on, and stood out with her magnetic and humorous personality. Pat was a devoted mother, adding enthusiasm to her daughter’s activities such as softball, dance, and especially as a cheer mom and Girl Scout leader. Pat is survived by her husband of almost 42 years, Ron and daughter Erin; her mom Jennie Jachts (91); father in law Charlie Roedema (96); numerous brother and sister in laws; co-workers who loved her; innumerable lifelong friends old and new, and her group of friends, “The Birthday Girls.” She was predeceased by her father Adolph (Art) Jachts, and mother-in-law, Anna Both Roedema. Pat had a love for animals and will be missed by her two precious dachshunds Brody and Jersey, whom she always babied and spoiled. Pat will be extremely missed by those who loved her. She was cremated and a memorial service will be held for her in the near future. She is watching over us now and someday we will be with her again in Heaven.
