Ruth Mary Bielefeld (Polhemus) passed away at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, NJ on March 23, 2012.
She was 84 years old.
Born on June 28, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to Sidney Merritt Polhemus and Emily Keating, she had lived in Denville, NJ for the last 45 years.
Ruth had worked as an insurance adjuster and enjoyed birding, watercolor painting, church functions, gardening, baking, playing piano, playing bridge, volunteerism, good food, and spending time with family and friends. She was also a long-term member of the Episcopal Church of the Saviour in Denville, NJ.
She married Gunther A. Bielefeld on January 28, 1961 at Grace Episcopal Church in Brooklyn, NY, where she was baptized and sang in the choir as a child and young woman.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband Gunther in 1988.
She was the loving, devoted aunt to Wendy, Bonnie, Lindsey, Tyler, Bradford, and Tad Polhemus, and great-aunt to Tess Annibell, Thomas, Stephen, and Chelsea Polhemus.
Funeral services will be held at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ 07834 on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 10:00AM. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm.
