Obituary of Albert Paul Klose

Rev. Dr. Albert P. Klose, 89, died on Thursday Jan. 26, 2012 at St. Clare's hospital in Denville, NJ.
He was born in Jersey City and lived in Belleville, before moving to Boonton Twp. in 1966.
He served in the US Army serving in the Philippines during WWII.
Al graduated from Seton Hall University in 1953, with a Bachelor of Arts He later received a Master in Arts Degree from Columbia University and received his PhD, a Doctorate in Mass Communications from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. in 1970.
He was a Professor of Communication Arts at Seton Hall University in South Orange for over 34 years retiring in 1987. From 1961 until 1981 he chaired the Communication Arts Department.
Following his retirement Al began his studies and became an Ordained Deacon in the Paterson Diocese serving at St. Mary's RC Church in Denville, NJ. He has also been a member of the Our Lady of the Lakes Council #3359 Knights of Columbus in Denville and he was a Fourth Degree with the Walter J. Barrett Assembly #659 in Boonton, NJ.
His wife Antoinette of 62 years died on Jan. 3, 2011 and a grandson Jonathan Longuil also predeceased him.
He is survived by his son Dennis and his wife Mary Ellen Klose of Kunkletown, PA, daughters Lori Ellis of Rockaway and Kathleen Longuil; of Naples, FL, and his six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brothers Thomas of St. Johnsville, NY, and Joseph of S.C., and sister Mary Jean Klose of NJ
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday Jan. 31, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's RC Church in Denville, NJ.
Family and friends are visiting together on Monday from 2 to 9 PM at St. Mary's Church where Deacon Al will lie in State.
