Obituary of Catherine W. Franz

Catherine Williams Franz Age 95, Denville, NJ Catherine Williams Franz, 95 passed away peacefully at home on October 2. She was born in Manhattan, New York. Upon her marriage, she moved to Scarsdale, New York in 1946. She and her husband bought a summer bungalow in Indian Lake, Denville in 1943. They moved to Mountain Lakes from Scarsdale in 1957, and later back to Denville. Catherine was an active member of the Altar Guild at her church in Scarsdale, and later a communicant at the Church of the Saviour in Denville. She was also responsible for interior decoration in the restored village of Grafton, Vermont, particularly the Old Tavern. Her husband John M. Franz predeceased her in 1996. Catherine is survived by her children, Steve Franz of Denville, and Marilyn Utermehle of Lexington, Kentucky and Wellington, Florida, and by her grandchildren, Cara Cheska of Wellington, Florida and Waukesha, Wisconsin, John Franz of Bolton Landing, New York and Christopher Franz of York, Pennsylvania, and her great grandchildren, Chapin Cheska, Rowen and Gavin Franz.
