James P. Powers, 77, passed away at Andover Sub Acute Rehabilitation Center at Andover, NJ on Thursday November 3, 2011.
Mr. Powers was born in The Bronx, NY was a resident of Hoboken and Secaucus before moving to Oak Ridge, NJ. James was a Checker and a member of the International Longshoremen’s Association for 30 years retiring in 1990. James was an avid New York Yankee fan and a golfer.
James is survived by his wife Louise (nee Molinari), his children, Teresa Santorella and her husband Bruce of Andover, James E. Powers and his wife Lynda of Andover, and Edward Powers and his wife Daisy of Denville and his 4 grandchildren, Allison, Colin, Nicole, and Rebecca.
Relatives and friends will be received on Sunday from 1-5pm with 5pm services at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 24 Broadway 14th Floor, NYNY 10004 or online donation www.jdrf.org.
