Obituary of Helen E. McNamara

Helen E. McNamara (Erlach) passed away on October 25, 2011 at Franciscan Oaks Health Center in Denville, NJ at the age of 99.
Born in New York City, she had lived in Newark, then in Mt. Tabor, NJ for 45 years before moving to Denville in 1994.
Helen was a graduate of Montclair State Teachers College receiving her Bachelors degree in Education in 1935. While attending Montclair she spent one year as an exchange student in Beauvais, France from 1933-1934 as part of her education. She worked as a buyer for Hayne's Dept. store before becoming a teacher, working for 17 years as an English teacher at Valleyview Jr. High School in Denville, NJ before retiring in 1974. Helen was a member of the Retired Educators Association of NJ, the Parsippany West Senior Citizens in Mt. Tabor, and she was also a volunteer at St. Clare's Riverside Aux. In Denville, NJ.
She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, John F. "Jack" McNamara in 1993.
Helen is survived by her son Paul and his wife Colleen McNamara of Blairstown, NJ and her grandchildren Erin and her husband Matt Vasold of Morris Township, NJ and Patrick McNamara of Stirling, NJ.
Funeral services will begin at 9:00AM on Friday October 28. 2011at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 for a 10:00AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Mass at St. Mary's Church in Denville. Interment services will follow at St. Teresa's Cemetery in Summit, NJ. Friends may visit on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
