Carol Askanas, 94, passed away on Saturday October 22, 2011. Mrs. Askanas was born in Saugerties, NY and lived in many towns before moving to Montville. She was a sales lady for the Lewis Garment Corp for many years. Carol was a volunteer for numerous organizations including the Civil Air Patrol. She was a direct descendant of Nathan Hale, a soldier for the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War who was best remembered for his last words, "I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country." She was predeceased by her husband Sidney and her daughter Andrea, and her son-in-law Paul and her brother Drew Price. She is survived by her granddaughter Julia Gurriell and her husband John, and her 2 great granddaughters, Kayla and Charna. All funeral services are private, in lieu of flowers donations to the St. Jude Children's Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
