I was hired by Sam in 1970 as a teacher in Brooklawn Jr HS. and worked with him for 10 years before being transferred to Parsippany Hills HS. A great leader-kind and understanding person-a person I admired. There were 5 people that had a great influence on my teaching career-Sam was one of them. After retiring after 35 years, now 65, I had set out to find and hopefully visit these
5 people to tell them what a great influence they had been. Unfortunately I was too late. A great husband, Father, teacher and most of all a great man. God bless you & thank you.

There aren't too many people still around at Brooklawn who remember Sam - over the 20+ years I have been there the names and faces have all changed. While I was not yet working there when he was Principal, I heard of him quite a bit and met Sam many years after he retired when by a stroke of fate I was the one to buy his house in Denville.
From the first time I walked through it was clear to see that for many years it was a wonderful home for his family, and for the last 12 years I have been very happy to call it my home.
Rest in peace, Sam.

I i knew Saq way back in 1959 or 60 when both my husband and I worked as playground counselors in Caldwell during the summer. Then my path crossed Mr. Parkinson's again in 1974 when he hired me as a reading specialist at Brooklawn Middle School. Later I transferred to Central Middle School and worked there as a reading specialist before retiring for 26 years. I will always be grateful to Mr. Parksinson for hiring me so that I could pursue my goal of helping students. He was a kind and compassionate gentleman.
