Michael T. Ligorano passed away at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville, NJ on September 14, 2013.
He was 87 years old.
Born in New York, NY he had lived in Denville, NJ for the last 60 years.
Michael served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a charter member of the Morris Plains V.F.W. and a member of the Denville V.F.W. Post 2519.
He had worked as the head custodian and grounds keeper at Morris Knolls High School in Denville for 38 years. After retiring at the age of 79 he continued volunteering for the Morris Knolls football program.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Virginia J. (Owenby) Ligorano of Denville.
His Son Michael K. Ligorano and his wife Debra Baumann Ligorano of Clinton, NJ and his grandchildren Allison Ligorano Sipple and her husband Brandon Sipple of Stockton, NJ and Matthew Baumann Ligorano also survive him.
Funeral services will begin on Wednesday September 18, 2013 at 9AM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 and then going to St. Mary’s Church in Denville for a 10AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Mass. Friends may visit on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
