John Thomas (Jack) McCormick passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at his home in Chambersburg, PA with his family by his side.
Jack was born and raised in Bloomfield, NJ. He graduated from Seton Hall University in 1951 and went on to serve his country in the Army during the Korean War. He moved his family to Denville in 1959, where he resided for 40 years. Jack worked as a shipbroker for several firms in New York City for 26 years before spending an additional nine years at Allied Signal in Morristown. He retired in 1994. Jack served as a Eucharistic Minister and Senior Acolyte at St. Mary's Church in Denville for several years prior to moving to Chambersburg, PA in 1999.
Jack was a dedicated and loving family man who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Isabel McCormick of Chambersburg, PA and his children Michael and JoAnn McCormick of Louisville, KY, Kathleen and Andrew Carey of Shippensburg, PA, Mary and Paul Lincoln of Weston, FL, James and Tracy McCormick of Crystal Lake, IL, and Tom McCormick of Hellertown, PA, and 13 grandchildren and one great grandson.
Jack’s funeral will be conducted from Norman Dean Home For Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of Jack on web site), on Monday May 2nd at 9am for a 10am Mass of Christian Burial service at St. Mary’s Church in Denville, NJ, entombment services at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover, NJ. Relatives and Friends will be received on Sunday May 1st at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Donations may be made in Jack’s memory to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
