Edwin Wayne Thornton passed away at his home in Lake Hopatcong, NJ on April 17, 2011.
He was 77 years old.
Born in Johnstown, PA, he had lived in Lake Hopatcong, NJ for the last 40 years.
Edwin served in the US Army and had worked as a shipping and receiving clerk for many years before retiring in 1997.
He loved camping and his dog Brewster, who he took on a trip across the country in a mobile home in 2001.
Edwin was predeceased by his wife Joan A. (Hirsch) Thornton in 2000.
He is survived by his loving children Karen Thornton of Lake Hopatcong and Scott C. and Denise Thornton of Randolph, NJ and his Grandson Jayson Thornton.
Funeral services will be held 10AM on Wednesday April 20, 2011 at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester. Friends may visit on Tuesday fro 2-4 & 7-9PM. Donations can be made to The Jefferson Rescue Squad, or the Jefferson Fire Department #2 Rt. 15 Jefferson, NJ 07849.
