James McIntosh, 86, passed away at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover, NJ on Thursday March 3, 2011.
James was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 28, 1924. He graduated high school and then, after Pearl Harbor, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy and was a World War II Veteran. He served his country proudly in both the Atlantic and the Pacific campaigns.
James was a resident of Denville for 44 years. He formerly resided in Brooklyn. He was the Vice-President of the Globe Shipping Company, which was based out of Manhattan. He retired after 40 years of employment.
James is survived by his devoted son James G. McIntosh and his wife Mary-Jean; his loving sister Mary McLaughlin, his cherished brother Eugene McIntosh and his wife Mary, and was adored by many nieces and nephews.
James was predeceased by his beloved wife Anne E and his dear daughter Anne "Annie Laurie".
Funeral arrangements through Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ. Please light a candle in James' memory on website www.normandean.com. A 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Service is scheduled at St. Mary's RC Church, Denville, on Monday, March 7th. Family and friends will be received on Sunday March 6th, at the funeral home, from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
A private Burial at Sea is scheduled. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kessler Foundation, 300 Executive Drive, Suite 150, West Orange, NJ 07052-3390.
