Obituary of Volker Scherle

Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, New Jersey 07834 (973) 627-1880 Daily Record 1x Sunday with picture Neighbor News Volker Scherle, 70, of Cape Coral, FL passed away on January 30, 2011. Born in Pforzheim, Germany, he grew up in Green Village, NJ and later lived in Rockaway, NJ and Santa Clara, CA before retiring to Cape Coral in 2004. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Economics from Lafayette College in 1964. He served in the United States Army as a 1st Lieutenant in the Infantry. Volker was employed at Silver Burdett & Ginn, Morristown, NJ as Vice President of Personnel for 16 years and from 1990 to 2004 at Coherent in Santa Clara, CA. He enjoyed stamp collecting, reading, fishing and especially the beach. Volker was predeceased by his mother, Lina Mall, his father, Arthur Mall and son-in-law Stephen J. Jerger. He is survived by his daughters, Wendy Jerger of Jefferson, Jodi Kobylka and her husband Andrew of Rockaway, his grandchildren, Amy Troxell and her husband Michael, Melissa Jerger and Scott and Jason Kobylka. He is also survived by his brother, Werner Mall and Christine, many nieces and nephews and his former wife and friend, Marcia Scherle. Volker will be genuinely missed by his family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Saturday March 5th from 12pm to 1pm and services at 1pm at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of Volker on web site).
