Obituary of Henry J. Nycz

Henry J. Nycz passed away at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, NJ on February 19, 2011, after a long illness. He was 85 years old. Born in Towaco, he had lived in the Indian Lake section of Denville for 56 years. Henry achieved his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Newark College of Engineering in 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was awarded the Victory, American Theater and Asiatic Pacific Theater medals. Henry worked as a Professional Engineer and City Planner for the Town of Livingston for 37 years before retiring as the town Planning Director in 1988. He served as a Senior Acolyte and was a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society at St. Mary's Church in Denville; he was proud of his Polish heritage and was an avid gardener, fresh water fisherman, NY Giants and Mets fan. Henry enjoyed traveling and together with his wife visited 49 states. Henry is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Edna M. (Carson) Nycz of Denville, NJ, his loving children Teri & Robert Broadhurst of Washingtonville, NY, Cathy & George Legendziewicz of Flemington, NJ, Christine & David Cornish of Sparta, NJ, and Carl & Barbara Nycz of Pittsburgh, PA, his grandchildren Matthew, Brian, Brittany & Kimberly, brother Joseph Nycz, sister Dolores Nycz and several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Victor, Chester and Walter. Funeral services will begin at 9AM on Tuesday February 22, 2011 at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 for a 10AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Mass at St. Mary's Church in Denville.
