Charlie will always have a special place in my heart for the love and care he always showed to my family. Sarah and James had may fun summer afternoons at vovas house playing with Charlie. They loved making him a cake for his birthdays and enjoying time with him. He will be missed by all of our family and we pray that he is in peace as he joins his loving wife.

Charlie & I were Army buddies 1943-46 and the best of friends ever since. We lived in the same neighborhood in Astoria, NY, knew each others families, attended each others weddings, etc., and he was Godfather to one of my daughters. After his family moved to NJ we still stayed in contact and visited throughout all these years. He will always be remembered in my heart & soul. - Gerard Steiner, Ormond Beach, Florida

My family and I would like to express our great sadness at the passing of Charles. My father Jerry and Charlie were Army buddies. After the War, my father, Charlie, and his sister Betty were good friends--my father always said he never met a more hospitable family than the Gegenbacks--they always treated him like family. My sisters and I grew up with so many wonderful memories of our visits to NJ to see Mr. and Mrs. Gegenback, Charlie and Maureen, Betty and Bob. Charles is the last of the most decent, honest, and caring families my family has had the privilege to know. His memory will be forever in our hearts.
