Lind III, 92, passed away at Franciscan Oaks Health Care Center, Denville, NJ on Tuesday January 25, 2011. John was born in New Orleans, LA, and was a resident of Rockville Centre, LI, NY for 60 years. The last 4 years he lived at Franciscan Oaks, Denville, NJ. John was a graduate of the 1940 class at Villanova University, he received his master’s degree in Health Administration at C.W. Post University in 1979. John served in the US Army Co.E.358th Infantry 90th Division during WW II throughout Europe. He was employed as a corporate tax accountant for Penick and Ford for 25 years, then at Republic Aviation for 8 years, retiring from the Nassau County Health Department 24 years ago. John is member of St. Catherine of Siena Church Mountain Lakes, the Newman Alumni Association of Long Island, a member of the New Jersey State American Legion, and a member of the 90th Division Association. John was predeceased by his 2 brothers Roy and Robert Lind. John is survived by his loving wife Dorothy (nee Jendras) Lind, his sister-in-law Gloria Lind, and his 4 nieces Barbara Nichols, Janice Barley, Patricia Lind, and Carol Stone. John’s funeral will be conducted from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ, www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of John on web site), on Monday January 31st at 9am for a 10am Mass of Christian Burial service at St. Catherine of Siena Church Mountain Lakes, NJ, committal and interment services at Holy Rood Cemetery Westbury, LI, NY. Relatives and friends will be received on Sunday January 30th at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
