Michael Maleyonok, 86, passed away on Wednesday January 19, 2011 at the Beverwyck House in Parsippany, NJ.
Michael was born in Belarus (White Russia), came to the United States after World War II and settled in Dover, NJ. Michael, during WW II was held in Nazi prison camps at a very young age and was a farm worker. He fought along side with the French and Russians to liberate their countries. As many stories Michael had to tell, he shared only with his son and daughter so they could appreciate the freedom he had received here in the United States. Michael was a machinist for the Estee Candy Co/. in Parsippany for many years before retiring 14 years ago.
Michael was predeceased by his wife Maria in 2000.
He is survived by his daughter Mary Ann Caraccioli of Morristown, his son, Michael Maleyonok Jr of Budd Lake, and his two grandchildren, Krystina and Michael Maleyonok.
Michaels’ funeral will be conducted from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of Michael on web site), on Monday January 24th at 8:30am for a 10am service at the Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church 64 Beach St., Rockaway, NJ, interment and committal services at the Presbyterian Church Cemetery Rockaway, NJ. Relatives and friends will be received on Sunday at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the family would be appreciated.
