While I did not have the pleasure to know Marianne as an adult, I did know one of the sweetest young ladies I ever knew from Kindergarten through High School and never knew anyone who could say a negative word about her.
It seems as though God needed another angel to come home.
It is so fine to see a word here from Patti Carey who I remember as Marianne's Sister and best friend forever.
God bless you and rest in peace.

Rest with God Marianne. My sorrow extends to your family and the loved ones you leave behind. As a friend and neighbor I was privileged to watch your wonderful family grow and prosper. You and your family were an inspiration for me in my early married years.

Although I have not seen Marianne for many years, Patti Carey Harris (my daughter) has always kept me abreast of Marianne's accomplishments and their hourly long phone conversations. I have very fond memories of her growing up and playing at our house on Dayton Road, always smiling and giggling. May she rest in peace, Dear Marianne. Carol Carey Doherty

I first new Marianne as Lisa's little sister--always fun and such a great smile. It was my pleasure to get to know Marianne better at the last reunion we had in 2008. A funny story I remember is her telling Margaret Cozzone Giambalvo and me that she heard that the current owner of the house they grew up in Denville could not believe that anyone could raise so many kids in such a small place. So Marianne paid the woman a visit to verify that Mary indeed raised seven Hughes kids in that little red house! She had a great personality and sense of humor. My heart goes out to Lisa and the rest of the family. With love and sympathy, Peg (Moore) Darnell

I had the pleasure this past Thanksgiving of meeting up again with my childhood friend, Marianne. We caught up on many years in which we had lost contact, and there just was not enough time to cover all the memories we shared. I am devastated as well as broken hearted by her sudden passing. My love to the family and a special hug to our little Meg. God Bless one of the nicest, caring, compassionate woman I have ever known. With my most heartfelt condolences, Debby Elly
