Schofield, 81, passed away at Saint Clare’s Hospital, Denville, NJ on Thursday December 30, 2010. Norma was born in Wharton and was a resident in Rockaway Borough since 1949. She was employed at Picatinny Arsenal as a Secretary retiring in May 1985. She was the Past President of the Rockaway Jr. Baseball League Ladies Auxiliary, and was Past President of the Rockaway Jay-Ceettes, and was the founder of the Original Rockaway Senior Citizens Organization through the Rockaway Jay-Cees, and was a member of the Rockaway Boro Super Seniors, where she held 2 terms as Secretary and Program Chairman, and she was a Cub Scout Leader for Pack #122 Rockaway Boro. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Patrick Meehan. Norma is survived by her loving husband Robert C. Schofield, her daughter Noralee K. Meehan of Boston, MA, her two sons, Robert C. Schofield Jr. and his wife Elizabeth, Ewing Twp., and Richard L. Schofield and his wife Sherrell, of Palm City, FL her three grandchildren, Melissa Papadopolo and her husband Alex, Jessica, and Richard Schofield, and her sister Lorraine Kemp. Norma’s funeral services will be conducted at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of Norma on web site), on Tuesday January 4th at 11am, committal and interment services at Evergreen Cemetery Morristown, NJ. Relatives and friends will be received on Monday January 3rd at the funeral home from 4-8pm.
