Dear Ed,
I was so fortunate to have Mary as my first voice teacher! She touched my life and I hold such wonderful memories of those times. I will never forget your gentle spirits and Mary calling out your name whenever she needed help!! When I sing, I will think of Mary. We will miss her.
Love,
Marie

To the Nicolazzo family: I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Mrs. Nicolazzo was an amazing woman. She cared so much for so many. She helped me find my true voice and taught me to fear less and sing more! It was a blessing to work with her. May she sing with the angels and rest in peace.

My one and only voice teacher and she was the best! What she could do to my voice. Mary would make me laugh when she would tell me to sing the opera song in , let's say Italian, and sing it with feeling, Like first I didn't understand Italian and then she wanted feeling? We would both laugh. She was a wonderful person and I will miss her. Mr. Nick and Rachel, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you both.

Dear Mr. Nicolazzo and Rachel,
I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed working with Mrs. Nicolazzo over these last few weeks - she had a strong spirit! As I said to Rachel, I'll bet that right now in the great beyond, she and my mom are having a cup of tea and talking about happy times at Cedar Lake! May you always feel her spirit around you - it was so obvious how much she loved you both!

It has been so many years since I have seen Mary - but like so many others that she touched: she lives indelibly in my memory as a relentlessly positive force. It seems difficult to imagine a world without her humor, attitude, affection, feigned exasperation, amazing generosity, open-mindedness, and love of the arts - but I know that we all carry a bit of her in ourselves now too.
With much affection,
--Jim
