Shirley B. McGill, age 86, of Denville, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Care One of Morris in Parsippany. Born January 31, 1924 in Lincoln Park, MI, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Clara (Ilthens) Daw. Ever the philanthropist, she was known to donate to many causes, especially Doctors without Borders and the Olympics. She was a volunteer at Clara Maass Medical Center in Bellville, NJ for many years. Shirley served her country in the US Navy in WWII.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; and her brother, Claude Daw. She is survived by her nephew Ernie Daw and his wife Maryann; grand-nephew and niece Joshua and Rebecca Daw, and her beloved companion, her beagle, Happy; all of Denville.
Services will be held Tuesday at 8:30pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville. Friends and relatives may visit at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
