Obituary of Sophie Dorothy Tice

Sophie "Dot" Tice AGE: 93 Denville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Franciscan Oaks Health Care Center, Denville. She was born in Staten Island, New York on March 26, 1917. The next eldest of 7 children, she was predeceased by her father, Walter Kryjak, her mother, Wladyslawa and three brothers, Robert, John and Matthew all three of whom served in the armed services during WWII.
Sophie moved to Dover after marrying her husband, Thomas M. Tice in 1943 where they lived during their loving marriage for 37 years until his death in 1980. Sophie was an employee of Cessna Aircraft, Boonton for 30 years and a life time member of Sacred Heart Church, Dover.
She is survived by her son Robert and his wife, Nancy Tice of Warwick Pennsylvania and James and his wife, Virginia Cartwright of Eugene, Oregon. She leaves behind two granddaughters, Sharon Tice and fiance, Adrian McDonald of San Diego and Susan and husband Ben Jenkins of Charlotte, North Carolina and their two children Samuel and Ava Grace. Sophie's devoted sisters, Mary Brown and Florence Danielewski and her brother, Teddy live in Brooklyn and Long Island along with nephews and nieces. She will be missed by Marion Tice of Newton and many close friends.
Visitation will be at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834, from 2 to 4 PM and from 7 to 9 PM on Monday, April 5. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, April 6, at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, Dover. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery also in Dover. Flowers or donations in her memory to a charity of your choice are welcome.
