Rita Elizabeth Davenport, 79, passed away at her residence in Fox Hills Rockaway Township on Monday March 15, 2010.
Mrs. Davenport was born in East Taunton, MA and was a resident of West Orange and East Hanover before moving to Rockaway Township 10 years ago. She was a homemaker.
Rita was the loving wife of Robert J. Davenport Sr., loving mother of Robert J. Davenport Jr. of Pt Pleasant, Steven Davenport and his wife Allyson of West Orange, and Carol Weinberg of Succasunna and her late husband Michael Weinberg., and devoted grandmother to her seven grandchildren, Robert Davenport III, James Davenport, Patricia Gentile, Christen Davenport, Kate Davenport, Kevin Weinberg and Christopher Weinberg and her five great grandchildren, her sister, Evelyn Ferriera, her brother Henry Rounds and her late sister Lucy DeFusco.
Mrs. Davenport’s funeral will be conducted from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ, www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of Rita on web site), on Thursday March 18th at 9am for a 10am Mass of Christian burial service at St . Bernard’s Church, Mt Hope, NJ. Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday March 17th at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
