I am so sad to hear about Steven's passing. Steven never missed an opportunity to say "Hi" or share with us his passion for food. He was a gentle soul and will be sorely missed. God Bless Steven. You are in God's loving hands now.
Sincerely,
Trish Stromberg

Life is such a tough pill to swallow. Having friends and family that support you and love you unconditionally makes it easier.
But when you encounter the population of extraordinary people I assist on a daily basis and in my most recent past. You are reminded how much love really means. We lose sight of everyday blessings like communicating, being able to go where you want and live your life. We focus so much on the negative aspects of life we are letting precious moments slip away with time. It is until a death happens that you are suddenly jarred back into reality as if you had been suddenly
awakened, to what life is really about and how precious moments defined you, or refined you. Don't lose sight of the life you have right now, happening..live and don't just exist. Those of us that have been chosen to walk our path with people with disablities, we know how precious each moment can be, and what each one brings to our life. I couldn't imagine life without them, but as I move on or they move on, in death or in life, I remember the valuable lessons of life i learned from working with this population of loving, forgiving, people. Live today, tomorrow may not come let go of the past and move forward, forgive and love let the little things like whatvyour going to have for dinner be a moment of joy that you can never get back. Rest in peace to a gentle soul. Who gave life in his death. Literally and figuratively.
"Stars cannot shine without darkness"-
Dedicated to my friend, u will be missed and thought of everytime I have meatloaf. God bless you.
Love, Panama.

My heartfelt condolences to all of Steven's family. I will miss seeing him with Mom at the 8:30 Mass. He always greeted me with a cheerful "Good Morning", Happy Easter, Happy Mother's Day and I remember smiling when he wished me Happy Father's Day too! He will be remembered by all who had the good fortune to share his cheerfulness. May he rest in peace. I will remember Steven and his loving family in my prayers.

Of all the souls I have encountered, Steven’s was the most pure. It remains an irony that a man deemed by society to lack social grace had, perhaps, the most grace of all. One definition of grace is to receive undeserved favor. Steven indeed bestowed much favor on all those in his path. I am honored to have been one of the select few to experience his persona and learn that life can be as simple as what is for lunch or dinner yet as wondrous as experiencing something for the first time. Steven and his life remind me to keep dreaming and discovering.

In life Steven's special needs were truly his special gifts. His ability to bring a smile to your face with his enthusiastic "Hello" never failed. May God and all the angels greet him with the same enthusiasm he showed us.
Well done good and faithful Steven. Your sweetness will be missed! Your friends, Ruth, Martyn & Mark Hladyk

Often when someone dies too young, people are found to be asking why. So ask yourself why did Steven live? He lived to be a light to his family and friends, he lived to share his heart with those around him. His life was a candle in the darkness. So when you think of Steven, if you have to ask why, honor him by thinking about why he lived not why he died.
