I am so grateful to uncle Edison and ninang auntie Baby for opening their doors to papa and making his vacation in NJ so memorable. It was then that I started knowing uncle Edison more. I would hear papa, our uncles and aunties here(Phil.)speaking so highly of him. He loved not just our dear auntie Baby but the entire Requejo clan as well. I just regret the fact of not knowing him personally but I'm so thankful for the exchange of simple messages we had in Geni. May his soul rest in peace.
In behalf of your family here in bicol(Phil.) our heartfelt sympathy to ninang auntie Baby, manoy Jay, manoy totep, mharz and JT. Our prayers are with you like always.

You were so part of our extended family that you will be surely missed a lot especially during our annual family Christmas gathering. You had always been a very kind and caring person and God has accepted another angel into His kingdom. Though you are physically gone, we know that your loving spirit will be there with all of us.

Golf...I feel honored to have played the game with Edison. I will always remember the dedication, determination and patience he shared with me. Being a novice player, the sun was setting and our group of 4 was reduced to the both of us. Knowing there was limited daylight and with 5 more holes to complete, Edison pushed through keeping my spirits up by giving me pointers every step of the way to improve my game. This is when I witnessed his drive. Having learned Edison's history with Toys R Us made me realize his passion was just not for the sport but it was for the things he believed in. And with the imprint he has left with many makes me realize that he believed in everyone he met. It has been a blessing to have met you.
We will miss you dearly. Rest peacefully.

Uncle Edison - we did not get to see very much of each other but my dad kept me up to date on the New Jersey crew. I remember first meeting you and noticing your very kind smile and the loving way you looked at Auntie Baby and JT. Your fatherly dedication showed when you were in Cincinnati and you took a very young JT on the golf outing with the "guys". My own children never had a chance to meet you but it comforts me to know that now they have another guardian angel to watch over them. You have impacted many lives and your spirit will live on! My love to you, Auntie Baby, JT,and the whole New Jersey clan.

For Edison…
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
I am the song that will never end.
I am the love of family and friend.
I am the child who has come to rest
In the arms of the Father who knows him best.
When you see the sunset fair,
I am the scented evening air.
I am the joy of a task well done.
I am the glow of the setting sun.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!

I will always remember Edison for putting others first before himself. I recently had surgery, and even though Edison was feeling tired already, he canceled all plans so that he could stay with me all day. I will never forget the sweet thoughtfulness when he said he just wanted to make sure that I would be OK. This is just one reason why I love him so dearly. He will forever be in my heart. He makes me so proud because of his loving care for the family. He is like a real brother to me.

I was shocked when I heard about the passing of Uncle Edison. It was very unexpected. Uncle Edison was one of the nicest people I had ever met. He was loved by many and I was one of them. Even though we didn’t see each other that often, every time I visited New Jersey and stayed in his place, Uncle Edison showed hospitality and loved for me. I adored him for being a family man, as a good father to JT, manoy Totep and manoy Jay. I also saw him as a wonderful and a good husband to Auntie Baby… that’s why I was wondering why him? But then I told myself, at least he’s in a happier place now with God …no more pain, no more sufferings. We lost a dear member of the family and his memories will always be cherished. We will miss you Uncle Edison and thank you for everything.

Matthew 5:4 - Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Although I have never met Ed, I am good friends with Joe Laihee. Joe's loss is also our loss but we believe that Ed has now come home to God and he is in a better place. We pray for those loved ones that Ed has left behind and we have faith in God that He will comfort them and take care of them in their time of need. We celebrate Ed's life and I'm sure he was a blessing to many. Praise be to God who continue to bless us and provide for us during this time of sorrow.

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.

Ninong Uncle Edison, during tough times, you were the glue that helped keep the family together. During our happiest moments, you were the spirit that gave us that joy. I will never forget the love you gave our family, your competitiveness especially when playing golf, and when you told me "Anything for you, Jobe." Finally, on our wedding day, Aileen and I will make sure to keep the promise that you took with you and will save a seat for you at the ceremony. I love you.

When Jobe and I were in college, Uncle Edison and Auntie Baby opened their doors to us to stay with them during our winter and summer breaks. We were so grateful because we had lost our home; our mom stayed in what is now Mamoy's room.
One day, Uncle Edison and Auntie Baby took Jobe and me to Jersey Gardens -- it had just opened. While Auntie Baby was shopping, Uncle Edison was telling us the story of when he knew she was the one. I remember him saying how he wanted to make sure he won us over in the beginning because he knew how important family was to Auntie Baby.
Uncle Edison, you have more than won our hearts, and with your loving spirit, you did so handily. We are indebted to you for making our family even stronger. Thank you for your countless acts of love, especially for being there for my mom, Jobe, and me.
I miss you so much. I love you.
