Joseph F. Giamartino passed away on October 13, 2009 at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, NJ after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 89 years old. Born and raised in the Bronx, NY. Joseph served his country in the US Army during WWII as a medic. He moved to NJ after marrying his wife, Agostina, partner of almost 49 years, where they raised a family of five in Fairlawn and Parsippany. He most recently resided at the Franciscan Oaks in Denville. Joseph worked in the industrial supply and tooling business in sales before purchasing his own business, Allwood Precision Tool in Clifton, NJ. He retired in 1985. Joseph was first and foremost a family man who enjoyed fishing, playing poker and smoking cigars. He was a huge Mets and Giants fan. Joseph is predeceased by his wife Agostina (Schillaci), son Francis, grandson Nicholas and his sisters Mary, Bessie, Josephine, and Anne. He is survived by his four children Teresa of Berkley CA and partner Pamela Springer, Regina of Stroudsburg PA and spouse Christopher Buccino, Juliet of San Juan PR and spouse Hector Figueroa and Joseph of Bedford NY and spouse Maria. Also surviving is his daughter-in-law Mary Garry Giamartino of Brattleboro, VT. Additionally, he is survived by his grandchildren Vincent and spouse Emma, Alexandra, Jacob, Lorenzo, Juliet Tina and Sofia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 17, 2009 at 9AM at St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Mt. Lakes, NJ.
